hey just downloaded the firmware and it looks great. now no one has anexcuse not to download this firmware it supports muli languages. thanks briainslyer, Cesar, Duality, and all the others for making this possible
there is a known issue with wireless advance. this is now fixed and a new compile should be replacing the older one. note this is an internal version which maybe slightly buggy.
is there a full feature list or some screenshots of the DD interface? everyone seems to be making a big stink about it and i may be bored enough to actually try it out...
i just downloaded and installed it, seems to be running great, put some stress on it, and it seems to be stable for me aswell,
the zip file is now updated with new features (chillispot) and some bugs fixed. the changelog is updated too
Works well i just flashed it on my WRT  PS..Linksysinfo.org seams to be slow today in loading pages
it is not a new interface were did you get from the only thing that changed was the xmit power was added
ooooooooooooh then go to the mangament page look for "Remote Router Access" and under the "Use https:" you should see "Info-onStart" enable that then go to the routers ip adress and bang it is there
Great job but:little bugs for chilli.conf on webinterface! I can not wait, so i download new firmware and try it. Great own options in for chillispot and new version rc3!! Cheers! Thanks! I now this is a pre->pre version 4 but i wan to tell this: When i save in the webmenu radiusserver1/2 He do not work i see this "cat /tmp/chilli.conf": radiusserver1 (null) radiusserver2 (null) (same bug in pre 3) And i want to use br0 on chilli.conf Now i have a choice to WAN or LAN. I think the name WAN = WLAN just only the name. (WAN=internet) The new option in this web interface WLAN+LAN end set this to br0. I use on my wrt also other AP so i can connect AP to LAN on switch and i then i need the option for dhcpif br0. Also vi editor do not work i want to edit chilli.conf but vi do not work! /tmp # vi /tmp/chilli.conf -sh: vi: not found Good job, but little bugs! Mies
I'm using pre-final 3.2 and it's AWESOME! I got one of the illicit copies of Alchemy and DD-WRT blows it away with features. The only "problem" I've found with it is QoS scheduling for BitTorrent doesn't work correctly if you set it on "Bulk" (it just stops it entirely). Otherwise...great!
i have had the luxery of seeing one WRT54G v3 flashed and flashing one myself, we bricked the first one, and being idiots we didnt understand failsafe mode, but we were still under warrenty so we took it back adn got another one, well i proceed to flash it with the lateest and greastest DD-WRT and well it bricked again, this time i reached like an appifinay of how tftp worked, and what the dmz light status was indicating, so i tried tftping from command but i would receive "server error: incorrect code format" or something similar, which told me the router was in a waiting state waitinf for a tftp attemp i rebooted the router so now its back in its waiting state, and since command didnt work i used linksys upgrade softwear and it worked perfectly after the upgrade the light continues to blink untill you attemtp to login through the web browser then it like activates i guess and stops blinking, in anycase i survived the brick but i have not tried putting the version 4 dd-wrt softwear back on the router. just my notes on the problems i have experienced so far with the WRT54G ver 3.0, if any of this helps great if anyone else is having same problem post up!
Re: Great job but:little bugs for chilli.conf on webinterfac LAN = br0 WAN = eth1 (or whatever the interface is on your router) for the rest. nice to hear the radius server bug the first time. if i had a notice about it, it would be fixed now
Re: Great job but:little bugs for chilli.conf on webinterfac THANKS!!! Just loaded pre4 onto my gateway router (2.0 hardware) and my wds node (2.2 hardware). Doing some stress testing now - I dont see any problems. You have to LOVE Open Source development projects!!!
Re: Great job but:little bugs for chilli.conf on webinterfac Brain...I also look forward to the quick fix to make radiusserver1 and radiusserver2 save correctly in the chilli.conf file and also bring back the vi editor. Your great work and ability to get things fixed quickly is appreciated by many users out here!!!!! =D>
cool so fast another version out... thanks... BrainSlayer and team so any1 have any problem with it so far???
Memory you guys might of noticed earyler i had problems upgrading firmwares i dont know what i was doing wrong but i did everything over again and the firmware upgraded fine, also someone told me that the wrt54g has 32 megs of memory like the GS but that its locked? is there any truth here? and if it is, has it been unlocked with firmware?
Re: Great job but:little bugs for chilli.conf on webinterfac I like this option for interface's choice: LAN = vlan0 WLAN = eth1 WLAN+LAN = br0 So with this option you can dd-wrt also use wifi for client mode and put a external AP on the WRT (switch) with chillispot on! Also you can wifi disabled and use only LAN (vlan0). So you have more nice futures to work with new dd-wrt! Micheld
Hmm i must see its stable ass hel i have transfered 40GB over 100Mbit and over 54Mbit without restart our connection drop load avg with 40GB trasnfer 0,15% Brain keep up the good work, ps, whene comes the other web gui or is there no plans for it (srry for my bad english) and can som1 fix the activation mail of this forum; http://forum.bsr-clan.de/viewforum.php?f=12 i have me registered but i have no mail for the activation :S
updated the zip file again. please revisit the changelogs. after some last web changes, the release will be done today i added http://brainslayer.braincontrol.org/dd-wrt.v22.prefinal4.zip please note that i fixed some problems discussed in this thread. that means chillispot interface seleciton for lan, wan, lan+wan and the radius server input field works now too. additionally you can added user defined settings to the chilli.conf in the admin interface. a new interesting feature will also be the possiblity to store the dhcpd client lease db to the jffs2 drive. so you dont loose your dhcpd ip after reboot changlogs: wireless advanced fixed Wireless short/long preamble selection added (thx duality) wireless access option added in wireless advanced menu (thx duality) chillispot dhcp interface selection (lan, wan, lan+wlan) chillispot additional configuration added client leases stored to jffs2 added (if enabled) multilanguage support for German,Spanish,French,Italian web server improved several web bugs fixed (thx, Cesar and Duality) jffs2 is working now firmware splittet in 2 versions. basic = does not contain dropbear, chillispot, samba and kaid full = all features of the common firmware
Okay great, i will download this new firmware and test again! I will let you now about my test. Thanks again for own option and choice interfaces for chilli!! Micheld
Possible bug.. Not sure but I am going to list the step we took to flash the firmware and whats going on... Ok we Flash to first release of the pre4 nothing was connected to the network not even the Modem.... It flash flawlesly... Than we just keep waiting for the new rteleases and keep flashing it.. note that the Cable modem is not connected to the router at all.. Now when we hook it up to the Modem we are unable to get a WAN IP we try it all re flash, release dhcp, renew dhcp, hard reset, soft reset and nothing... than I thought about cloning the MAC of my computer where I have never had to use thes because I use RR. Now after the MAC clone I was able to get an IP but it drops every so often.. Any ideas why?
just upgraded it and works great. edit: I had some problem. I could log in via http. I was just getting ping time outs. But https:// worked. So i reseted the router and http works again. woha
Anynone have succes with the client mode in V 3 of WRT54G?? I have 8 in front of me... It shows that in Sys-Info that the client is connected, but i can't get ping responses... Please men, I need it.
jffs still seems broken, still getting Code: mkdir: Cannot create directory '//jffs/usr/': no space left on device got the same thing running 3.2 and 3.3
Survey mode borked I just upgraded to DD-WRT #22 prefinal4 (basic) on my WRT54GS v1. The Status -> Wireless -> Survey button locks the router up solid, requiring a reboot.
very minor bug From admin page --> reboot router button --> continue button --> goes to /.asp(blank page) instead of back to admin page or any actual page note subject: very minor bug
i know. i was to lazy to fix it last evening. i know this bug since many weeks (shame on me) about improved webserver: i rewrote some file handling parts for faster site building. this affects direct english. the other languages are a little bit slower, since they are translated in realtime. the memory leak is still under investigation (very hard to find) but its one of my highest priority tasks to fix it
Meaby i found somthing that leak the memory i have yesterday updated the router with your latest dd-wrt and i found that snmpd from 2,5% memory to 9.7% memory in just 1 day that problem was there never before. and have no mrtg or whatever running. 780K free, normaly is that 1.4MB free
I have a problem with this. It keeps disconnecting from the WAN i guess, every so often. This impacts gameplay on a grand scale as every 10-15 minutes, i get dropped from the internet. Any idea what this could be?
it could be your isp. i would call them and ask them if they are having problems. just to rule them out you could try another router in the place of your existing router and see that works. if the router that you replaced with the existing router with drops then most likey it is your isp. if it does not then it is your current router. you can change the firmware and turn on mac adress clone. btw what do you use cable or dsl
Heres the full story. I have had to revert to alchemy 5.4 to get it to a time without these disconnects. Any time I change the firmware from that to newer versions, I always get the disconnects, in one form or another. At first it was not giving out new DHCP alotments after a certain amount of time, which i had to reboot the router to reset. Now, it gives out dhcp just fine, but it disconnects me every so often (a watchdog reseting the service?). I have Cox High Speed Cable internet. It is definatly the router, as I have plugged directly into the modem and been fine with no disconnects. It seems like it is just in this firmware that i get the random stop of internet.
I had the same problem. I loaded the basic version. But, now ssh isn't available. This doesn't make sense to me. Why do I use the basic so I can have jffs2 support but not be able to remote into it to use it! Am I totally confused here? I really need to use ssh for what I want to do with this. How do I have ssh access to the router and jffs2 support?
I did flash with the full version. In fact, I'm running it now. The problem is the jffs2 mount is still showing 100% full. I can't put files on it or anything. Also, I noticed that there is no VI or editor with this build. I would really like to be able to edit files on it. I really like the DD-WRT web interface, but openwrt is much more flexible. I wish we could have the best of both worlds. Also, I tried to telnet to the basic install of version 4 and it wouldn't let me connect either. One of the reasons I really want SSH is because I want to use fwbuilder to manage the iptables on the firewall. It uses ssh to install the policy. Of course, it is failing because it can't find iproute (which is really route). Would love to use symlink, but can't write to the thing.
How do you set up a static DHCP? I set up a port forwarding, but if the DHCP address changes, it's pretty useless. But I don't understand the format... Great firmware nonetheless! Mike
it would be something like this.... Static Allocations: ( Format: IP MAC Hostname ) 192.168.1.2 00:00:48:83:T5:E9 Main 192.168.1.3 00:30:BD:F7:4G:6C Dell 192.168.1.4 00:30:BD:91:8D:99 Acer
With this version, my wired PC getting disconnected every minute or two. I thought it was the NIC initially, but it appears to be a bug with the DHCP server. Is this a known bug? I bricked my WRT54GS by the way trying to go back to Linksys firmware.
how did you bricked again. thefirmware loaded and then a brick or what?? did you try different ethernet ports on teh back of the wrt for the pc that kept getting disconnected
DD-WRT prefinal 4 loaded fine, but when I tried to go back to the original firmware, it got bricked. I believe I got disconnected in the middle of the process. I hadn't thought of trying other ports. Too late now...
looks like it was not dd-wrts fault that you bricked the router becuase of the fact that you got disconnected
It was my fault that it got bricked; however, frequent disconnection appeared to be a bug of prefinal 4.
