    To flash into Advanced Tomato when you're receiving a corrupt image or unofficial Linksys block;

    For those of you on firmware higher than 1.1.40.166281, and it will not allow you to revert back to this version, or upload 1.29 Tomato and Advanced Tomato, you will need to TFTP recovery flash back to 1.1.40.166281.

    To do this, you will need to follow the below outlined steps:
    1. Perform a softreset. Reset router by holding the reset button for 15 seconds, allowing the router to boot completely afterwards;

    2. Open command prompt and type ping -t 192.168.1.1 enter and set it to the side of your screen so you can watch the output mentioned in step #5;

    3. Execute tftp2.exe, then type in the host ip of your target (default gateway address of router-192.168.1.1, in this case), type "admin" in password box, select your firmware, which in this case would be "FW_EA6700_1.1.40.166281_prod.img," and leave the retry setting at its default of 3;

    4. Power cycle the router;

    5. When you see command prompt output a TTL=100 reply, wait a few seconds, then click the Upgrade button on the TFTP2 GUI window (if you do not succeed, you will need to retry step #4 and #5 until you successfully flash "FW_EA6700_1.1.40.166281_prod.img"

    Now that you've successfully flashed "FW_EA6700_1.1.40.166281_prod.img," you will need to follow the below steps:
    1. From 1.1.40.166281, flash into 1.29 Tomato;

    2. Once you've successfully flash 1.29 Tomato, and you have confirmed the flash as successful by checking the Gateway GUI, you need to perform a softreset;

    3. From 1.29 Tomato, flash into Advanced Tomato;

    4. Perform a final softreset;

    5. Configure to your liking.

    Congratulations, you now have Advanced Tomato on your Linksys EA6700!

    Sincerely,
